Siddhanth Kapoor, brother of Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor, was arrested by Bengaluru Police on Sunday night for reportedly ingesting narcotics during a party in the city. Siddhanth was allegedly partying at a hotel on MG Road when police raided the establishment after receiving a tip. According to Bengaluru police, Siddhanth is one of the six persons who were reportedly discovered to have used narcotics.

Actor Shakti Kapoor, Siddhanth’s father, has expressed his disbelief. He said, “I am not aware of anything. I have just gotten up from my sleep and my phone has started ringing continuously. He hasn’t been arrested but detained by the cops for consumption (of drugs). I don’t think there was any possession. I have as much information as it is coming out in the news and I am really troubled by this news.”

Siddhanth began his acting career with Sanjay Gupta’s crime film Shootout at Wadala and then appeared in Anurag Kashyap’s psychological thriller Ugly, featuring Tejaswini Kolhapure and Ronit Roy in a cameo role. Siddhanth worked on Haseena Parkar alongside his sister Shraddha, which is based on Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena. Shraddha Kapoor played the title role for the first time, while Siddhanth played Dawood Ibrahim. Siddhanth most recently appeared in Rumi Jafery’s Chehre, in which he played Joe Cost, an ex-convict convicted of murder.
