Fatima Sana Shaikh talks about her preparation for the role of Indira Gandhi in ‘Sam Bahadur’

Fatima Sana Shaikh is preparing to concentrate on her forthcoming film, which is based on the biography of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, named “Sam Bahadur.”

Fatima Sana Shaikh, who received a lot of positive feedback for her work in the anthology “Modern Love Mumbai,” is focusing on her upcoming film based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw ‘Sam Bahadur,’ in which she will play the role of India’s first female Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The actress is keeping a close eye on the late leader’s life events by studying old interview videos and reading about her infancy and formative years. “I got excited about the film only because of Meghna Gulzar (the film’s director),” she replies when asked what made her say yes to the project.

Fatima states that Meghna is skilled at her art and that the sessions with Meghna have piqued her interest in everything from filmmaking to various components of the film. She also revealed that she is researching Indira Gandhi’s personality using public domain data in order to give broad strokes to her own interpretation of the figure. She went on to say that, while none of this would be seen on TV, learning about famous people who have impacted the course of history is fascinating.

In the meantime, Fatima Sana Shaikh is starring alongside Dia Mirza and Sanjana Sanghi in Taapsee Pannu’s production ‘Dhak Dhak.’
