Veteran film journalist Ali Peter John passes away

On Wednesday veteran Ali Peter John passed away, and several celebrities pay tribute to him.

Ali Peter John, a veteran cinema journalist, and author passed away on Wednesday. The cause of his death is unknown at this time, but according to reports, he was hospitalized and died in the intensive care unit. Ali Peter John was in his early 70s and passed away in Mumbai. His funeral arrangements have yet to be finalized. Ali Peter John was involved with Mumbai Mirror, and his book ‘Witnessing Wonders’ was released in 2014. Several Bollywood celebs, including Subhash Ghai, Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, and others, attended the event.

Abhishek Bachchan was mourning his death and tweeted, “Today, our industry loses one of our senior-most journalists. Ali Peter John was always very kind and supportive of me once I became an actor and I remember seeing him around since I was a child. Rest in Peace.”

Anupam Kher paid an emotional tribute to the veteran and wrote, “Deeply saddened to know about the death of my dearest friend and the veteran journalist Ali Peter John! For me #AliPeterJohn was the #DilipKumar of film journalism!! Much before I joined films I was a fan of his weekly column #AlisNotes in Screen Newspaper. He was the first journalist who wrote about my play in Mumbai. We were friends for more than 40years. I was witness to all different phases of his life. His ups and downs. He was a wanderer. I gypsy with a golden heart. A prolific writer. And a well-wisher for life. I will miss him and his regular calls.
