QS releases 19th edition of World University rankings, Delhi University ranks top in India
India’s top institutes like the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Millia Islamia and Delhi University have fallen from their previous rankings.

On Thursday, June 9, the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University released its 19th edition of the world’s most popular comparative data regarding university performance. Most of the top Indian universities have slid in the rankings.
India’s top institutes like the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Millia Islamia and Delhi University have fallen from their previous rankings. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has climbed 11 places to 174th place. The prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru has made its place in the top 200 universities in the world.
Indian universities have been struggling with the QS assessment resulting in lower rankings. As per the report, the University of Delhi is the top institute in the country. Followed by IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras and IIT Delhi.
