Ludhiana doctor-actor Samarpan Singh fails to settle meagre Rs. 12,000 outstanding payment

A financial dispute has surfaced involving Ludhiana-based doctor and emerging actor Samarpan Singh, who is accused of failing to settle a meagre outstanding payment of Rs. 12,000 for public relations services.

Publicist Dale Bhagwagar, known for his work with high-profile clients in the Indian entertainment industry, claims that despite multiple reminders via WhatsApp, email, and phone calls, Dr. Samarpan Singh has not cleared the remaining balance for personal PR services rendered. Dr. Samarpan Singh appeared in a film called Pad Gaye Pange released recently.

According to the publicist, the dues are part of an agreement to promote Dr. Samarpan Singh’s budding acting career, which included arranging media coverage and providing consultancy. The outstanding amount is reportedly due to a difference in deduction of TDS from Dr. Singh’s account from Deep Pharmacy, apparently an affiliate of Deep Hospital in Ludhiana.

The publicist, who has a longstanding reputation in the industry, emphasized that the sum in question is modest, especially considering Dr. Samarpan Singh’s professional standing and family background. He remarks that it’s disappointing to see such a small amount as Rs. 12,000 become a point of contention, adding that he has made numerous attempts to recover the outstanding amount.

The publicist has indicated that if the dues remain unpaid, he may consider escalating the issue by exploring alternatives, including legal channels, writing an open letter to Deep Hospital and Deep Pharmacy, writing to the TDS department, or seeking assistance from industry bodies, and the Shiromani Akali Dal political party in Punjab, which is currently in the news for seeking a ban on the film Emergency.

As of now, Dr. Singh and his representatives have not issued any statement in response to the allegations. The incident underscores the importance of clear financial agreements and the potential complications that can arise in professional relationships, particularly in the entertainment sector.
