John Abraham: “I would not like to be available for Rs 299 or 499 for OTT, I am a big-screen hero”

With Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria, John Abraham will soon be seen in Ek Villain Returns.

John Abraham has made his opinions about the OTT platform known. John has featured in a number of films over his career, ranging from horror and drama to comedies and action movies. Additionally, he has created some intriguing material for the film. As he alternates between these two positions of actor and producer, he has divergent viewpoints on the OTT sector. The Force actor recently admitted that while he enjoys OTT platforms as a producer, as an actor he would want to stick on the big screen.

In a conversation with ETimes, producer John Abraham discussed his opinions on the streaming industry and claimed that he likes the area and wants to serve the platforms’ audiences. He did, however, add that as an actor, he is quite clear about his desire to appear on the big screen.  “I am a big-screen hero and that is where I want to be seen. At this point, I will do films that cater to the big screen. I would find it offensive if someone shut off my film midway on a tablet because they needed to rush to the washroom. Also, I would not like to be available for Rs 299 or 499. I have a problem with it,” John stated.

Alongside Jacqueline Fernandez, Rakul Preet Singh, and Ratna Pathak Shah, John most recently appeared in the action movie Attack: Part 1. He currently has Ek Villain Returns by Mohit Suri, which will be released in theatres on July 29. Disha Patani, Arjun Kapoor, and Tara Sutaria will be his on-screen co-stars. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are at John’s Pathaan.a
