Fans call Nick Jonas ‘National Jiju’ as a video of him wearing a Kalawa goes viral

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have been the image of a beautiful marriage. Nick recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, where he spoke extensively about both his wife Priyanka and their daughter Malti. Nick made numerous amusing confessions, ranging from his parenthood journey to his favorite dancing routine taught by his wife. The crimson kalawa (thread) knotted on his right wrist, however, drew the attention of social media users. His Indian supporters applauded him for respecting and upholding Priyanka’s Indian traditions.

Fans flooded the page with spectacular reactions in no time. As one of the users put it, “Did someone notice he is wearing a rakhsha dhaga.” Another said, “National jiju for a Reason.” “He knows everything about India,” wrote a fan.

Priyanka Chopra is a spiritual person, as we all know. The pair has been photographed enjoying Indian holidays and pujas according to Hindu rites on multiple occasions. On Diwali last year, the couple hosted a Lakshmi puja at their Los Angeles home. The two were spotted doing aarti and lighting the diyas and puja lamps together.

Priyanka has previously discussed how her and Nick’s beliefs aligned on Victoria’s Secret’s VS Voices podcast.  “Spiritually, Nick and I align when it comes to our feelings and our relationship with our faith. Of course, we have been raised with different faiths. I am a believer that eventually, religion is a map to get to the same destination, which is God. So, whatever your faith has been when you were raised, we are all going in the same direction to a higher power. We both align on that.”
