Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta, Jaya Bachchan, Sushma Seth, Reema Lagoo, Lillete Dubey, Delnaaz Irani, and a plethora of other actors starred in Nikhil Advani’s 2003 blockbuster. In a 2007 interview with Mumbai Mirror, Anurag Kashyap claimed, “I also got the hefty offers after Satya.”
Karan Johar requested me to write Tere Naam, Jism and to script Kal Ho Na Ho. I stood firm in my refusal. Because Karan is the king of romanticism and I’m a realist, I declined Kal Ho Na Ho. I didn’t want any issues after starting a project. Karan didn’t take my refusal well, but it wasn’t personal.”
