Nayanthara wears sindoor and shows off her mehendi at a press conference
On Saturday, newlyweds Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan interacted with the media for the first time since their wedding. They also grinned and posed for the photographers while holding hands.

Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan, who married earlier this week, mingled with the press for the first time on Saturday. Several photos and videos of the newlyweds from the press conference have appeared online. The pair stood for the camera, smiling and holding hands. Nayanthara wore a yellow saree with a bluish-green blouse to the event. She accessorized the look with traditional jewelry and a dash of sindoor (vermillion) on her forehead. Vignesh was dressed in a grey shirt and navy blue slacks. Nayanthara thanked the people, “All of you okay? Thank you, thank you so much for coming. Thank you for all the support you guys have been giving us for years. We need it even more now as we are married and stepping into a new phase.”
Nayanthara and Vignesh wedded in a small ceremony in Chennai on Thursday. Vignesh turned to Instagram after completing all of the procedures and posted a series of photos from his wedding day. Monica Shah of Jade created a vermillion red custom-designed saree for Nayanthara. Vignesh, on the other hand, chose a handmade veshti, kurta, and shawl. The outfits were also customized with the couple’s names. Vignesh also penned a heartfelt note on social media. He wrote, “On a scale of 10 …She’s Nayan & am the one. By God’s Grace.. jus married.”
